OurKarma's methodology focuses on empowering the client to be their own implementation team. Supporting their efforts by giving them the necessary instructions, documentation, and guidance needed to successfully implement their ERP solution.

The belief that something as complicated as an ERP system can be made to be 'Turnkey' or that the client can force a vendor into an 'All or nothing' position because the system doesn't function the way they want it is unrealistic.

The client's mentality coming into a project is very important - and sets the stage for the entire project. Setting parameters and boundaries is designed to ACTIVELY guide clients through the implementation process. Removing layers of overly protective put the client in the position to understand the work in front of them - and trust those guiding that journey

The client's mentality coming into a project is very important - and sets the stage for the entire project. Setting parameters and boundaries is designed to ACTIVELY guide clients through the implementation process. Removing layers of overly protective put the client in the position to understand the work in front of them - and trust those guiding that journey

Based on our experience, the majority of ERP implementations fail because the client's expectations are not properly established
  • Client's expectations are unrealistic. They want the vendor to re-skin their current software or rebuild the vendor software to function just like their current software

  • Clients complicate the implementation by requesting customizations and software enhancements so that the software works the way they want it to function

  • Clients are over-sheltered. Clients pick and choose how they participate in implementation. In the beginning, showing little engagement (when the implementation team needs heavy input from the client) or shifting into a more overwhelming state (claiming the solution MUST work their way, otherwise it's unusable)

Foundation of the OurKarma Methodology
  • Making the client a real participant in their implementation. Forcing ownership of decisions (as well as the results/consequences)

  • Encourages clients to get hands-on experience with the system early in the process. Not just passively watching from conference calls. The client will need to establish several ERP SMEs early who can engage with the system

  • Client engagement is paramount for project success. Establishing client accountability early is key to making this process feel normal to the client -- promoting adoption of the ERP

  • Change requests will become more measured because the client will be wholly responsible for building those requests

  • Willingness to learn and understand the system will be baked into this solution.

  • The client will work at their own pace. They can go as fast or as slow as they want. They need to accept that the review process will always be objective. Cutting corners to 'make up for lost time' is not an option

The OurKarma process does NOT allow the client to just 'jump ahead' at any part. All steps must be completed systematically (filled out, submitted, and signed off) to proceed to the next step. This ensures due diligence is maintained. OurKarma will follow a standard ERP Implementation structure
  • Mobilization

  • Discovery

  • Design

  • Development/Configuration

  • Testing

  • Deployment

OurKarma reviews each client-submission -- and objectively accept or reject each item. If rejected, reasons will be provided to cure the issue(s). If the client wants live assistance, they are welcome to attend our free monthly OurKarma session, designed to give clients 1:1 time with a member of our OurKarma team to pose questions. If they prefer a focused session, they can choose to schedule a dedicated session with the OurKarma team to address their concerns. Dedicated sessions are optional and will incur separate fees (hourly rate per consultant)
